3rd & 4th Norwich

Sea Scout Group

Welcome to the 3rd and 4th Norwich Sea Scout Group

The Group is based in the Catton Grove area of Norwich and is open to boys and girls ranging from 6 years to 14 years of age across our Beaver, Cub and Scout Sections.

We are part of UK's biggest mixed youth organisation. We change lives by offering fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.

Scouts helps children and young adults reach their full potential. Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world.

Beavers (6 years – 8 years old)

Beaver Scouts are our youngest members. They meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities.

They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.

Our Beavers meet on Thursdays from 6.15pm to 7.15pm. If you are interested in joining and require more information, please follow the Make An Enquiry link at the top of the page.

Cubs (8 years - 10½ years old)

Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging.

A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors learning new skills.

Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.

At Cubs they are introduced to more adventurous activities like hiking, climbing and kayaking. They also start to learn essential Scouting skills like tying knots and map reading.

Our Cubs meet on Tuesday from 7.00pm to 8.30pm. If you are interested in joining and require more information, please follow the Make An Enquiry link at the top of the page.

Scouts (10½ years – 14 years old)

At Scouts they enhance the skills they started to learn in Cubs. They also develop their craft and creative skills as well as taking part in more adventurous activities which can include things like archery, abseiling and survival camps.

Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp. They also have the opportunity to take part jamboree's attended by thousands of other Scouts from this country and all around the world.

We have a water base in Woodbastwick, Norfolk where we have fun on the water taking part in activities such as kayaking, sailing and rafting.

Our Scouts meet on Fridays from 7.15pm to 9.15pm. If you are interested in joining and require more information, please follow the Make An Enquiry link at the top of the page.
